What are you doing/eating today ( Saturday)
RNY 7 Years Post Op
Morning
Golfing this afternoon with friends. I really dislike late afternoon golf as it means sitting around in the morning, then having to take food with me in the heat on the course. Really not much to whine about I know!
I am flying home on Monday for a week to get us moved back into our house. Then I return here to close this place down and drive the car back. Its time to get home and away from all the socializing. I am so ready for a major purge!
STEPS - 9223
EATS - note, this is a terrible menu today - calories ok but not enough dense protein and too many carbs for me. Might end up switching it up if I get home early enough and only eat 1/2 the sandwich. I could take a small cooler on the golf cart with me to pack better choices- but I am lazy
B - 2 large mugs of coffee
Premier protein shake with 3 inches of banana and ice - blended
L - 2 hard boiled eggs
On course - Peanut butter and jelly sandwich
Medium navel orange
S - post golf - 1 Mich ultra with my friends
D - glass of milk with some meds- bod is giving me grief
S - Greek yogurt
MYFITNESSPAL totals for the above menu are: Calories - 1,404, Carbs - 164 Grams, Protein - 85 Grams
All water and vits - I never miss this
Have a great one
Good morning everyone. So for the first time since surgery I ate a hard-boiled egg and felt ok afterwards. Today I will try eating an entire fried egg, which has been an issue for me since surgery as well. Some errands to run today, cleaning, then the gym and hot yin yoga this afternoon. I am happy to report that I am doing a hot yin yoga class 4 times a week now and loving it! My joints have never felt better and my flexibility is greatly improved as well. More than that, it has been psychologically amazing for me, holding uncomfortable positions in yoga is mental practice for getting through uncomfortable situations in life. Btw I got my date for my abdominal MRI foe next month and am on the cancellation list as well, so hopefully I will have news about that soon. Waiting is really hard eh? Btw, I started taking additional magnesium and potassium at bedtime this week and it is going well. Hopefully this will help with muscle cramps and energy.

I weighed myself this morning and after two days on the road I'm up another pound *grrr*. So, today I sat myself down and decided I have to get serious about sticking to the plan. I even broke out my kitchen scale to weigh my ham this morning. Of course my portion sizes have been distorted. 100g of ham looks very small again. Must... fix... my brain...
Also, I did some soul searching last night and decided I have 101 excuses for eating more than I should -- I get carsick, I'm tired, I'm allowed to eat more now because I'm in maintenance, the dietitian told me I could gain some weight back and still be okay. It is not okay. I now want to lose about 10 pounds to get to my next goal. I'm not going to be able to do that and eat 2,000+ calories.
Breakfast - ham
Snack - carrots and pb
Lunch - zucchini lasagna
Snack - tomato soup with meatballs
Dinner - egg and pickles
Snack - pudding, protein cake
All water and vits
Good for you!!
People think losing is tough - its maintenance that really separates us. Having your head in the game all the time is tough but necessary. Even when I eat poorly, its not mindless anymore. I know it and I have a plan to get back on track.
I've gone thru all the stages - just like grief - denial - anger - sadness, until I finally realized this is it for life if I want to stay a healthy weight.
Hang in there - sound like you have the smarts to get a good handle on the rest of your eating life
The fact that you are aware is a super great sign. You are doing the best thing by getting back on track asap. You can do this! I have 3 lbs to go until my goal of "normal" bmi myself, I know is so easy to go back to old ways as we are creatures of habit. I struggle with this every day, every meal. I try to take it day by day and reward myself with non-food stuff of fancier weight loss friendly delicious food. Your menu looks good so it is obvious you know what to do, just hang in there.
Late on here today. Already been out for a walk with the dog. Sun on the lake was beautiful but the wind out of the north as brutal. I was so glad to be home. Leaving this afternoon for Orillia. We are seeing Martin and Martin (Steve Martin and Martin Short) at the casino. We go hang out and wait for the show and eave right after. I am not a gambler. It is suppose to be cold tonight. Looking forward to the hotel. It has a pool and a hot tub. We will probably hit that as soon as we get there.
I checked the menu of the restaurant and will probably just have a scallop appetizer and split a salad
b greek yogurt, strawberries
l left over meatloaf
s baby bel
d scallop and salad
s cheese and crackers
