Humber River backlog

Are there any other Humber River patients here stuck in the backlog? My husband had his orientation in January. We were told he would get a call in 8-10 weeks for his next appointment. I called today because we haven't heard anything. I was told it could be another 2-3 months. What?!

The wait is frustrating.

I would appreciate hearing from any other Humber patients since the move to the new hospital. What has your experience been?

I just called HRRH to follow up with my appointments and they said that they are still processing patients who had their orientation in August. YIKES! I had my orientation in October.  Looks like we have to wait a bit longer.......

Me too! I received a call last week, wanted to book an appointment with the surgeon, but I've called back 4 times and left msgs. No call back yet. Anxiously waiting. Starting to get nervous too.

Hi Marie!

You are almost there  - WOW! only a week to go! So excited for you!

I am expecting to have a similar (brutally long) journey towards that surgery date.   I will take this "extra time" to focus on changing the way I am eating and figuring out my new treadmill.  Something good has to come from it!

Good luck on the 13th! :) all the best!

Orientation was Apr.24/15, got my first call Sept.29/15. It is a long wait, but worth the time and work! Some days the wait is unbearable- but he'll get there. If he hasn't had a sleeptest, get one done now! By the time he's called, he'll have one less thing to wait on. Good luck!

I know it is frustrating. I had my orientation at Humber, June 21, 2015 and just had my trio appointments on March 24th. I got the email for the appointments in January.

They should change that 8-10 weeks, in the booklet, to 8-10 months.  Once things get going, it will go by pretty quick.

Congratulation to your husband on begining his journey!

The wait can be frustrating but use the time as the others have mentioned - there's a lot of info out there to help you and your hubby prepare. My timeline is in my signature - good luck!
