Goodbye Gastric band....hello....???

Had Slimband surgery in March 2013 - so just had my 3 year anniversary (Gastric Band) - probably one of the best and worse things I have ever done.

I say best because it was fast - and worked well in the beginning - now 3 years in - it has become quite cumbersome - and there has been little to no support from Slimband.  Every time I contact them - I feel that they are simply reading from a script.

I have had a few fills - and a couple of defills - and now I am at the point I want to rip the band out - and say enough is enough.

I spoke to my family Dr - and he referred me in mid Feb 2016 to the Bariatric program at University Health Netword in Toronto.

I rec'd my intake forms on April 1st - and my orientation is May 11th

I am shocked at how fast this has happened - and happy at the same time.

is this typical?  What is the usual wait time to get through the process and actually have surgery?

So I guess I will be doing the revision - meaning - removing the band and getting one of the other 2 procedures done.

I am right on the border line for having an approved BMI - so I hope I will get approved.

Any info is greatly appreciated.
