I started Opti at 370 lb Before surgery I was 350-355 lb. I had surgery March 2nd. I went home march 4th. By March 6th I was 340 lb. About 30 down from starting Opti. In the 10 days since my weight has fluctuated between 340 and 343. Is this normal? My calories are below 500 a day (two premier protein shakes and a juice and some broth). I did the rounds of doctors last week and blood/urine tests and everything seems fine. Blood sugar has been up because I was on no insulin after surgery. I have corrected blood sugars to be under 8 now with insulin.

Why am I no longer loosing?

Any help is appreciated.

Did you have a weight loss before surgery?  That could be the cause.  Stick to what you are doing and the weight will come off.

Sorry I see now you have lost 30 pounds and that is great.

Your body is healing hun. You have swelling and internal trauma, and your body is not likely to start letting go of weight right away. It's normal. You'll  start to lose a bit, and then hit a major stall soon after (look up the dreaded 3 week stall). Stick to the plan and I promise, it will come off.

Hang in there! Stick to the plan, you will lose the weight.

Post-op, you are healing. You have been pumped pumped full of gas and fluids which can make your weight seem higher. Let yourself recover and the weight will start coming off noticeably.

I am totally having the same issue and i had surgery the same day as you, its sucks but keep going!! I have faith that the weight will start to come off :) I am just sticking to what I am suppose to do, make sure I get my vitamins in etc, and i am sure eventually my body will start to lose the weight. I did notice today was the first time I was in the 323's so that's progress as I have been stuck at 324-326 since last week!

Chin up :)

Hang in there. I had surgery Feb 24, 2016. The first week I was home I lost 11lbs then from 1.5 weeks out to about 3 weeks out I lost ZERO. Now things are starting to move again. I was concerned as well but as everyone has said, stick with the program and follow the direction given by your team and it will all fall in place. Good luck on your journey!

I'm in the same boat.  Surgery March 2nd and I've been floating at 347 for the past few days.  Three week stall most likely.  We run out of glycogen so have to start converting fat.
