I started the pureed a bit early.  Sunday.  The meal planner book the hospital gave me said I should try to progress early if I felt ready.  I was taking in 1/4 cup of food, but I was not meeting my protein needs, so I tried to see if I could do 1 cup of food to try to get the protein in.  It's been going well so far.

I found my recovery was very quick.  I was getting all of my protein shakes and water in very well every day.

When I say "sip", I mean to sip at the pureed food.  We are also not permitted to drink liquids 15 minutes before and 30 minutes after eating to prevent washing down the food too fast.

I had quick recoveries as well from my 3 surgeries for WLS and always felt I could eat more but they just warned me not to as you truly can't feel inside yet from them cutting.  I see now you mean sipping at your pureed, guess you are making them quite liquidy.  Your centre gave you the go ahead so definitely listen to them.  Your pea soup amount didn't worry me as it is sloshy and watery but when I saw 1 cup of beans, it just seemed high but since you are sipping them it must be quite liquid like.  I lived on protein shakes for liquids as it was the easiest way to get the protein numbers up and even when I went to pureed, I still stuck to at least one per day since we have to eat so much to get in 30 grams or protein vs drinking it.

yes, the beans are very liquidy.  I mixed them with a little bit of vegetable broth.  I didn't include it in the myfitnesspal log, because the calories are negligible.

yes, my hospital also told me that they don't recommend me having one shake a day in the long term, but they said people do it and are fine.  i.e. breakfast shake or as a supplement to get all the protein in.
