Spicy food and different stages after surgery

I know that I've been asking a lot of questions.  But  when are we allowed to add hot pepper and/or curry to our meals?

Thanks for your help!

whenever you want to.  It may not agree with you but there is no magic time to know if it will or won't.

So I guess from the pureed stage is fine. I guess the liquid stage too by adding it in soup. But I don't think I want to it might hurt my new pouch.

I had curry at the pureed stage. I made a curry chicken in the slow cooker. I kept it mild to be on the safe side. I was so nice to have something so flavourful after weeks of liquids (3 weeks of opti and 1 week full liquids).

You're asking lots of good questions in your posts...you'll be well prepared.

Good luck!

Hi tammy,

Thanks for your reply! I'm actually having my surgery exactly a year after you! I hope to lose a 100 like you.

I'm going to find my slow cooker and make that curry chicken too! Yumm!

Oh when you made the curry chicken in the crockpot did you put chicken broth? Any veggies or just chicken and broth or just chicken?

Thanks for your help and congrats on losing 100 pounds!

I used coconut milk with some chicken broth and added some onion and green peas (veggie and good carb in one!). It seemed runny at first but once I pureed it, the extra liquid was good...especially when reheating.

Thanks for the kudos...I can't believe I've come this far. And you will too!

I was eating spicy food right away, never had any issues with it. I did have issues with homemade tomato soup though... oh gods, even now I cannot touch it. It's the only time I've ever dumped, and it was *awful*. You'll do well, good luck and welcome to the bench!

Thank Seyenna! I bought a lot of tomato soup. I hope I don't dump either!
