Optifast and black stools

are you taking any iron? such as feramax? this could be the reason for the darker stools.

Oh yes I have.  But I'mnot taking it civil l consistently. But I have gastric emptying delay so this may have caused it.

Honestly, black stool is a sign of bleeding somewhere 98% of the time.  Dark dark brown sometimes looks black, but being this close to surgery I would not be waiting and I'd be contacting my centre for advice. If you've developed some type of bleed, surgery could be a bad idea right now

Thank you for your help. Yes, I have called and left a message with the clinic to call me.  But it was late in the afternoon is no call back.

I didn't have another bowel movement as yet. I'll also see.how it is when I do.
