RNY  6 Years 11 Months Post Op

Morning

Ended up having a glass of wine and some cheese and crackers yesterday while watching the sunset.  That is my nemesis, or more apt to say one of my great pleasures in life is to watch it set every night with a glass of red wine and 3 or 4 triscuits with cheddar.  I don't have this in my list today but I may add it as I have room in my calorie count

Having a late dinner at home tonight so a few more snacks in my day are planned

Not sure how my eating is going to be today.  I'm going to try to make good choices. Very busy day ahead. Moving my grandma from the hospital where she's been since the beginning of November to convalescent care for the next 90 days to get some rehab and get her some strength So she can walk again. 3+ months in a hoSpital bed is a very bad thing.  So my morning will be stopping to get her a gift to leave the nurses, hoSpital to get her ready for transport. Then to the care home, then a midterm exam, then I have an ultrasound... Depending on the timing might visit grandma in between.... Them home sometime after 4 if I come straight home from the ultrasound. If I don't visit in between I'll visit grandma after.

So far here's the plan....

B- cheese with ham on a melba toast (have to use up the cheese and ham)

L - same as breakfast.

D - to be decided, still hoping for chicken

S- I'm taking some baby bell and cheese strings with me. Since these are what I have for snacks currently.  And I ended up eating my partial quest bar late afternoon since supper was delayed due to shovelling grandma's driveway.

Lots of water and decaf tea, or maybe a decaf coffe thrown in. Will see what I feel like drinking during exam time.

You are a good granddaughter!  and you are absolutely right re what sitting in a hospital bed does to your muscles and stamina

You sound like a kind person Nikki.  Hope all goes well for you.  It takes a special kind of patience to work with older people

She's family. And my grandparents mostly raised me, I spent a very large amount of time at their house growing up. So when they needed help I moved back and haven't left. And with my grandpa gone and my grandmas health issues that have only developed over the last lYear or so she needs the help.

I just need to figure out what I'm going to do when she's released since she's going to need around the clock assistance. Depending on how well this ggoes. But I don't think she'll ever be able to live alone again.

Agree - its one of my big pleasure when we are south.  I try to resist - but then the sun makes its siren call around 5 or 5:30 and its so lovely.  I tried it with Perrier and just not the same level of enjoyment.  I think its all in my head so I am trying to make a deal with myself that I do this only so many nights a week.  so much easier when its cloudy!

My favourite would be taking photos of that sunset. My current photo subject is my puppy. I send the cutest ones to my best friend. She calls herself puppy-aunt.

Oh snow... I've been out shoveling already so maybe I can call that my exercise for today ;)

I have an appt at 1 and a meeting at 6 so my food will be messed up today.

Breakfast - turkey pepperettes

Snack - carrots and pb

Lunch - leftover steak, veg

Snack - yogurt, crackers

Dinner - steak, potatoes

Snack - banana, pudding, protein cake

Goal - all vits and water
