For maximum weight loss buy keosticks at the drugstore and keep your body in ketosis

For most of us that means 18-22 carbs a day.

I found I lost best at 40-50 carbs daily. This number kept the weight coming off, and I also found it easiest to work with as far as my daily diet and eating food that I liked (I like the odd piece of low-GI fruit, etc). Everyone is different, but I do recommend keeping your carb intake on the lower end of the scale. Don't do the "net carbs" thing.

So I was just at my 3 month follow up with the dietitian and she told me to get my carbs up to 130 grams a day. Can you believe that? She said that my brain would thank me. That carbs are good for cognitive function. I keep mine between 30-45 gram a day and on occasion go higher.

I have my 3 month next week but i do know that this question was asked at pur post op food class and we were told not to worry and that the average person required a min of 120g for normal brain development but since we arent "normal" anymore i am curious what people are keeping their counts around.  I am never over 30g in a day and im ok with that i like not eating them i just couldnt believe that there was that many carbs in an apple.  I love reading labels and using my fitness pal to actually account for what is going into my body now
