Surgeon Follow-Up Post Surgery
My discharge instructions say for me to schedule a follow up visit with my surgeon 4 weeks out. I contacted my WLC and they said that "no one sees their surgeon" after surgery unless there are problems. I was scheduled for an appt with a nurse and a group nutrition session. Have any other post surgery patients seen their surgeon post op, for follow up, and to ask questions?

That's right (at least for the Ottawa clinic - edited to add this!). We see the nurse practitioner for our follow up appointments, among other members on the team, but not the surgeons.

Referral: September 2014; TWH Orientation: December 9, 2014; Social Worker: March 2015; Nutrition Class: May 5, 2015; Nurse Practitioner: May 20, 2015; Psych Evaluation: August 2015; Nutritionist: September 2015; Meet the Surgeon: November 6, 2015; Pre-Op: December 4, 2015; Scheduled Surgery: December 18, 2015; HW 367; SW 341
When surgery is done technically the surgeon's job is done. But I know based on your previous post that you have questions. Just ask the nurse practitioner or whatever professional you are going to see the questions that you have. If you need to follow up with the surgeon at that point, then do so.
