Off for a walk soon. It is a warm day out there. Too much exercise yesterday has left me kind of sore but I think a walk it will help stretch the sore out

I had some bad news last night. I have  sister that is 8 years older than me. We have not spoken in years. We were never close but she sent me some pretty nasty e-mails and I just decided to distance myself. She did not speak to anyone else in the family so it wasn't difficult. I just heard she is in the hospital and has a month to live. She is in and out of lucidness. I feel I should go to the hospital but am torn.

Anyway this is my lengthy excuse for breaking my resolve and have some wine last night. We will see what tonight brings after the visit

b greek yogurt, strawberries

l tuna kit, sf pudding

d steak, salad

s crackers and laughing cow

I am down three pounds and do not want to sabotage myself. We will see

Pat I am so sorry you are going through this dilemma.  On the one hand this will be your last chance to offer forgiveness, which might make you feel better and on the other hand the visit could turn nasty.

Please be strong, you have been doing so well.  Eating or drinking off plan will not help the situation, only make you feel guilty after.  Try to talk it out with other family members and see what their take on the situation is.  Sending you hugs my friend.

Thanks for the reply. I went ot see her. It is funny but she has alienated so many people including 2 of her 3 kids that was happy to see me. So I will go back to see her. I hope not to run into her oldest daughter who I think is part of the problem. She has some memory lapse as well

It sounds like you made the right choice in seeing her.  I'm glad that it went well enough that you are going back to see her.

Sorry to hear about your sister Pat, that is not easy.  Glad your visit was ok and that you feel comfortable visiting again.  I always find that a long walk is helpful, clears my head, and it is such nice warm weather lately.  Take care or yourself, don't let one glass of wine break your resolve for long-term change, you can do it.  I have similar situations with some members of my family and I think it is very brave to go see her, good for you.  I am sure that she is comforted that you went as well and that it will bring her peace.  Take care of yourself and please let us know how things are going with your sister.
