Hi again! Like the subject line says, I'm back with lots goin on. The last time I was here I was having some SERIOUS doubts about all of this. I had my trio appointments at Humber and I got really thinking if I should take this step with so much happening.

First off, cpap machine is working great for me. I'm finally sleeping and dreaming and no longer waking up with headaches. I had rescheduled my carpol tunnel surgery from january to march cause my coworker was leaving then to. NOW hospital moved it to May for right hand and July for left hand.

I pushed back dr. Glazers appointment from march to may because I was really on the fence about this. I needed more time to think. I did go see my doctor, he said I dont need to do this. Said my thyroid is fine, nothing wrong with me. Doesnt know why I'm not losing weight. Went to see my dietician today, she said humber requested some tests and bloodwork that my doc didnt follow through with, like a thyroid ultrasound.

I have decided to keep goi g along for the surgery after all. Dietician gave me lots of help, great info and support group info. I want to be healthy again, even if it means I have to take 20 vitamins day forever. LOL. Any words of wisdom or encouragement would be greatly appreciated. LOL.

HELP!!!! I'm kinda scared! Thanks for reading!

Glad to hear you are sleeping well.  (Life is miserable when you are constantly tired)  Also great to see you are taking your health into your own hands and talking to the right people and making educated decisions, and thinking this entirely through.   Doubts are good .....it means you take it seriously !!!!!    I am a big believer in support groups as well.  I started to go when I was still in the waiting phase...you can learn soo much!!

If you feel you have exhausted other means to reduce your weight and get healthy than this may be just what you need.  Your Dr. was right...you don't NEED this surgery....but if you WANT it GET IT !!!     No one can make that decision but you.  You seem to be pretty serious and quite prepared this time....so good for you !!!!!

Don't be scared........Be excited, that you have this opportunity available to you.  For me (knock wood) it has been wonderful and I have no regrets.  It isn't an easy choice or an easy ride........but it is life changing in the best way!!!

For many of us this is a last resort. We have tried every diet out there. I have lost and regained hundreds of pounds. Surgery is the easy part. Sticking to your program and being compliant with your vitamins is essential. I am glad you had doubts. This should never be taken lightly.

Having said that it is the best thing I every did for myself. I am fours years out and still working on maintenance. I have had about 20 lbs regain from my lowest weight. I am currently working on getting about 10 off. So surgery is not the magic bullet but it a great tool to help you be healthy
