Feeling guilty over Chicken Chili
Hi all, I'm looking for a little advice ... I am just short of 2 months post-op and things have been going very well in terms of eating, etc. On the weekend I made some ground chicken chili (just ground chicken, tomato and red kidney beans) ... it was great ... today I took some to work in a cup size container for lunch ... and I ate the whole thing! I'm now feeling guilty that I did that and I didn't feel sick or anything ... although I did feel full. My question is ... Is this normal to eat a cup of food and not feel sick ... have I already stretched my pouch? I am very good about recording every thing in My Fitness Pal and I'm never over 600-650 calories a day and my protein is up and fats and carbs are acceptable. Today was just not a 'mindful' eating day/lunch.

Thanks Tracey for talking me off the ledge ... I wasn't sure if it would do anything to the pouch ... still lots of learning for me to do

I agree with Tracey...good portion size and good food choice with protein and complex carbs. Chili is still my go-to meal almost a year post-op...I change it up every time I make it to keep it interesting (black beans instead of kidney beans, ground chicken instead of ground beef or ground beef/pork mix, taco seasoning instead of traditional chili seasoning). I even sprinkle low-fat (18% MF) grated cheese on top for an extra zing/treat.
Don't worry about eating chili. Great to grab on-the-go when you're in a pinch.
