Frustrated with trying to get a follow up test scheduled.

Hi everyone,

I needed to take the antibiotics for the h-pylori. It's been a month since the last dosage. I have been trying weekly to have the follow up breath test performed to get the final OK.

I have been hounding my Dr office to get the test booked. All I get back is they still need to do it. Making it sound like it is a difficult thing to do.

Is there another way of getting this last test done? My concern is if I need to be retreated, it will add another month onto my retesting time.

Any suggestions are appreciated.

I'm in east end Toronto. My Dr gave me the names of a few clinics that did the test for me and I called and did it myself

i did one round of pills, called the lab and went 10 days later

within a week that test result was sent to my dr.

I paid out of pocket $90

Maybe it's an option to get it done that way and avoid the dr lol

mines old fashion

Thanks for that info, I don't mind paying for the test to be done.

Thanks for your reply

I never had a follow up test.  I took the medicine and that was it.

My office wanted that piece of paper that said negative

I had to due 2 rounds of antibiotics but my doctor just

gave me a requisition and I went to an outside clinic to get the test done. I had to pay the $90 but was reimbursed through my benefits and they sent the results to my doctor. That's probably easier to do.  Good luck!
