RNY  6 Years 10 Months Post Op

Morning

Not much on today other then a walk and maybe a movie later this afternoon.  Ate too much at the party last night and I can feel the bloat.

STEPS - 11,533

EATS

B - 2 large mugs of coffee

    Premier protein shake

 

L - 2 hard boiled eggs mashed with 1 TB of miracle whip light

 

S - 2 oz deli ham

 

D - 5 oz grilled swordfish with a tapenade of jalapeno and feta

     couple of asparagus

 

S - Yoplait Greek 100

 

MYFITNESSPAL totals for the above menu are:  Calories - 822,  Carbs - 25 Grams,  Protein - 103 Grams,  Fiber - 5 Grams

 

All water and vits

Good morning everyone.  Barb hope you had a good party yesterday.

Today it's swimming and then visiting a friend in hospital, maybe some shopping afterwards, and then an early night because I have been up since 3:00 this morning.

I have been having trouble getting in all of my protein, so I am setting myself a challenge for the next 6 weeks to get in at least 100g of protein a day and to stay under 50g of carbs.  I'm not going to stress about calories, but will try not to go too low.  I've been concerned about losing muscle with the way my protein numbers have been.  Had my blood work done last week and it looks like everything is in the normal range.  I go to see my GP tomorrow and he will be able to confirm the bloodwork.

18 months post op

B. Large decaf coffees, AV's Buffalo Chicken salad with 2 oz of chicken in it.

S. After swimming protein shake

L. 3 slices of Lillydale chicken deli meat with a little mustard

S. Turkey strips with a little chipotle dip

D. Sole stuffed with scallops and crab topped with a little protein cheese sauce, mushrooms

S. Protein hot chocolate

MFP totals Calories 823, Carbs 42, Fat 23, Protein 113

Exercise - 1 hour of swimming

Hi CC

Can you eat more then 2 oz at one sitting or would you be too full?  I know your centre has indicated they do not want you to eat more then 2 oz per meal/snack so it could be difficult.

If you CAN consume more then the 2 oz then maybe up it to 3 oz?  That's not a large serving really.

I can definitely eat more than 2oz at one sitting, but I am trying to follow my Centre's instructions (for now).  I really don't get hungry on eating just 2oz, and I have been really lazy about eating protein snacks. This is why I am giving myself this challenge to be more on top of my protein numbers and to get in my snacks, whether I am hungry or not.  We'll see how the next 6 weeks go. I can do anything for 6 weeks.  My energy levels have been pretty high, in fact people have been commenting on how they wish they had my energy.  

Your menu looks really yummy too.

Just be careful that this doesn't get you in the habit of grazing.   It's tough to figure out maintenance and we are each individuals.   6 weeks should allow you to know.

Good morning Barb. I am at work but would really rather be home. Need to get things moving in my body. Miralax helps but not enough. If it wasn't so painful I would go eat something with carrageenan in it. That would certainly clean me out.

Hope to swim today but will depend on work.

d no idea. Going out to dinner and do not even know where we are going.

Drink some good strong bold coffee and guaranteed by cup 2, you will be going.

With or without the miralax?     coffee often does the trick for me too.  Unless I have left it too long.

I don't use miralax.  I have been living on narcotics for about 10 days now and as long as I drink 2 strong coffee each morning I have no problem.  We were away on the weekend and drank just regular coffee and by the time I got home, I was so plugged up that I thought I may have to do something but drank 4 of the bold coffee and that did the trick.

How strong is the coffee?   I don't use miralax either.  Colace in pill form 2 times a day has been working but I worry when I go really low carb as I hope to this week.
