Question for Ottawa Alumni

How soon after you met your surgeon did you start your optifast/have your surgery?  I am finally going to meet with Dr. Mammazza (sp?) next week and, assuming this is my last hurdle, I'm just trying to get an idea of an approximate timeline. Thanks!

I met with Dr Neville beginning of December and my surgery is next Wednesday the 10th with Dr. Mamazza.   So about 2 months.

My surgery was in 2014.  I met with my surgeon (Dr. Yelle) on 18 March, and started Opti 16th June.  My surgery was 7th July.  It was a long 3 months of waiting for the call, but well worth it.  :)

I had my surgery in 2014. Met with Dr Mamazza in February 2014 and my surgery was in May

Mine was a while ago, but I had been told that on the first week of the month, they schedule the next month's surgeries.  Such as this week they'll schedule March surgeries.  I probably should have been 2 months, but there was a cancellation that got me in at the end of the same month.  Not sure how long it is now, that was in 2011.

I met with Dr Yelle Jan 7th, 2016 at the Civic, and I got a call a week later to book my surgery (which is for March 2) So really fast for me. Just started Optifast today.

My surgeon is also Dr. Mammazza.  When I met him, I received a call later the following week about the date of my surgery.  It was done fairly quick.  I had options of dates and I decided on 9 September.  So I think your surgery date should be around this time as well. Good Luck!

Hi Lovely, this is a pretty old post so I'll update.  I got the call the following week and my surgery was March 9th.  Dr. Mamazza was fantastic! I had no complications and recovery was a breeze.  Good luck with your upcoming surgery in September, you'll be in good hands,
