HEY Everyone.  So I was able to get an earlier appointment with the Dr.Klein @ HRRH for tomorrow!!!! Super excited...  This makes it a bit more real...

Anyyyywayys...  For my question.  His soon after the first appointment were the trio appointments and your surgery booked??

I know it won't be the same for me, but I'm looking for a basic timeline and any information would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks.

Oh. And anyone around the 400lb starting mark..  Have you been asked to loose weight before your surgery?

I just went to my first surgeon appointment yesterday.  I received the dates for the Trio's when I got the date for the surgeon and they are at the end of the February (they booked them all on the same day).  Then you have to see Dr. Glazer (Internist) which could take a few months unless you are lucky enough to get a cancelled date.  After that then you are able to get a surgery date.  I do not know the time line for Dr. Klein but Dr. Hagan said right now his turn around after doing all the above-mentioned appointments was about a couple of months.  I hope this helps give you some idea.

Awesome.  It does.  It just makes it all the more real thinking that I might be in for surgery before summer...  yikes!

I am starting at 380 or so. I do not have my surgery date yet and I am at a different centre. Each centre has it's own methods.

I think everyone is supposed to loose some weight before surgery. I think that is part of the optifast before surgery. Also We are all encouraged to start making changes as soon as possible and not wait for the surgery.

I was also told that it is possible that when the surgeon gets in there he may find that a Roux-en-Y is not a good idea at that time and he would do the gastric banding instead and do a Roux-en-y at a later time. Like months later.

Thanks for the info!

I am totally aware about the optifast, so that's not a concern.

I have totally started making changes, and I'm super excited to continue this change in my life :).

Thanks again!

FYI:  I called this morning to see if I could change my trio appointments to an earlier date and was told that they did not have anything earlier and that they were actually rescheduling some appointments.  I am booked for he end of February.  I then called Dr. Glazer office to see if I could move that date up and they are now booking in May, 2016.

Hi there

I see Dr Klein in 2 weeks. How did your appointment go? What should I expect?

I was told that when once I see the surgeon, I'll get the other appointments.

Have you had your surgery yet or do you have a date?

whatever you can share, I'd really appreciate your help.

thanks in advance ?

Dianne
