I have my first EVER appointment in April at the hospital ,it seems pretty informal just a first meeting and a questioner to fill out and bring with me or send to them not sure have to re read the paper. My family doctor basically referred me because Im big and I asked ,she has never helped me with my weight or did any test ! I could be dying and wouldn't know :( not the greatest Doc but hey im one step closer. Please tell me anything to say or not to say and how to start this process on the right foot .Thanks in advance

Hello to you and congratulations on taking the first step to a healthier lifestyle.  The best advice I received was to educate yourself on all the bariatric options available to you, and research everything you wish to know.  I found knowledge to be the most powerful tool we can have.  I wish you all the best in your journey and feel free to post here anytime you feel the need, also there is a search field on top of this page just type whatever you want to learn about and voila it shows up.

Be honest in your answers. Get any help they ae willing to give you. The surgery is just a start. You need to start working on how you ended up obese. For most of us it was emotional or stress eating. Start work on dealing with this, It will not go away
