DAYS FROM SURGERY AND TRUE ANXIETY
In almost every life challenge, I encourage people to look forward...but I gotta say...you are in that sweet spot. Looking forward at this point makes our hearts pound faster and our minds working overtime in organizing. So, my friend, just take this little time and reflect on the past. Pat yourself on the back for a job well done in preparing for this moment. Pray every morning thanking God for advancement in science to having this tool. The next few days is like you have packed for your journey. No anxiety about getting up and walking as soon as possible, because you have rehearsed well my friend. That is the only thing you need to focus on. Good job, reflect and have a safe and healthy journey. See you on the loser's bench.

I too am an organized person -- and tend to blame myself when things don't go the way I think they should. There are so many things in this world that are out of one's control so as prepared as you are, prepare to roll with change too! My hospital bed broke down -- didn't see that coming!
I scurried around organizing lots of things pre-op, but there came a point where I just had to sit down and breath. My advice, take time to stop and breath.
Wishing you well and looking forward to a post op report.
Hi Simon!
I am wishing you all the best for your surgery! We are surgery buddies; I am having my lap band removed and converted to RNY on Monday, Jan 25th. I too have a tremendous faith in the Lord and am peaceful in His comfort. Now that it is getting close, I have found myself becoming more emotional thinking about the journey. We will do great! Blessings, Nicole

Anxiety is normal and natural.. and definitely expected. I think the ones that have NO worries are the ones that have not thought far enough ahead or considered and weighed the risks. You'll do well, just follow the advice, stick to the plan and I promise - the weight will come off and I pray you have no other complications. Be well.
