What are the Wait Times like for Toronto Western????

Does anyone know what the wait times are like for Toronto Western??  Just wondering if it would be worth it for me to transfer from HRRH.  I had my orientation Dec 10 and spoke to someone there today.  They are only now booking for people who went to orientation in July/August.  so that means I probably won't hear anything until April or May.

Thoughts?  Anyone???

TWH usually hands you the set of your first three appointments as you leave the orientation and my first one was 2.5 months from that time, have a look at my dates below. You can always call for cancellations. I had my orientation in Jan 15 and surgery in Dec 15. It may be worth it to transfer if you want the surgery sooner than later.

I transferred from HRRH to TWH last February. I meet the surgeon in March, surgery probably in late April.   I hit an odd snag in December and it slowed me down about a month - my chart was misplaced and I missed rounds a few times while it was tracked down. 

I had my chart transferred from HRRH in Feb, orientation in April, my first set of appointments through July and August (done via telehealth, so they may have slowed me down a tad), nutrition class in October, met the psych and nutritionist in November/December.  Last appointment was with psych on December 1st. Meet surgeon March 3rd. The date for my surgery is a complete guess - but I think end of April is probably about right.

My dates are the best advice I can give you.  Only you can decide if you really want to switch.

Have a look at the dates in my signature, I had my surgery through Western about 7 months ago.

I was able to get in on some cancellations by calling in once per week to see if they could move me up.

I imagine I would have to do the orientation there as well....so there would be a wait for that.  I think I will suck it up and hang tight and just wait it out.

HRRH is really easy to get to and I hate driving down there.....will take that into consideration as well!

Have a look at the dates in my signature.  I had my orientation at HRRH so I didn't have to go to one at TWH.  I had a three month snag because I was diagnosed with sleep apnea and they needed a couple medical reports..
