Hi everyone, I have my first appointment tomorrow morning with the social worker. On my appointment sheet it says 4th floor east wing of the TWH. Is the bariatric clinic easy to find?

Any insight into what I can expect with the social work appointment? Thanks,

Hi there, the clinic is easy to find ... not sure how you are coming in but if you are parking underground at TWH you come out of the elevators go right across the food court to the hall turn right and you will see the elevators on your right hand side just down the hall ... go to the 4th floor and you're there.  Remember to fill out all your paperwork prior to your appointment, the social worker generally goes over your paperwork and asks about why you are wanting the operation and the kind of support you will have before, during and after. You will be fine and good luck :)

It's the Main elevators. Not Fell or other ones. :)

The social worker's appointment won't last more than 30 minutes. You'll notice that at all of your appointments the professional will have an ipad and will plug all of your answers to their questions into it. BE EARLY! I was literally 3 minutes late because of crazy traffic coming in from Ajax and got an earful from the social worker I spoke to.

As the social worker goes through your paper work, she'll ask you about relationships you have, what support you have, your career, education, income, etc. She'll ask you if you will be able to afford vitamins and supplements for the rest of your life. She'll ask you about any history of mental illness and go through a series of questions.

Her last question will be, why do you want to have this surgery?

Everyone at TWH is lovely- you'll do great :)
