Surgery tomorrow
By full surgery, do you mean gastric bypass? If so, the regular time in hospital is 48 hrs. Good luck!

I'm not sure where you're having your surgery, but I think the norm is 48 hrs in all Toronto hospitals. I required an extra day myself due to bad nausea.

OMG Lisa the day is here I wish you a great surgery and a very healthy recovery.
I am having surgery Jan 25 and am having a lap band removal and revision to RNY. My surgery time is at 12:30 and will be in Hosp 3 days if all goes well.
Are you having the same.
I hope all goes well and a great future and success in your weight loss journey.
Best of luck

Hi Simon,
Well, it's done, lap band removed and by pass done. There was some erosion with the band, so he told my husband the surgery was a bit more intense, so I got to stay in the hospital an extra day. I almost did not come home today as I woke up this morning in excrutiating pain, it felt like a rib was poking a hole into my lung. The nurse kept telling me it was gas pain, but I did not believe it could be so intense. Dr Glazer sent me for a Cat Scan to chech for pulmanary embolism, but no, all was good, just dreaded gas pain. I am glad I am home where I will be moving more and even as the day progressed it got better. I wish you luck, Dr Huynh and Dr Glazer are both awesome. I am looking forward to hear on how you did, keep us posted :)
