HOW WIILL I. DO ON OPTI-FAST. !!!!!! HELP !!!!!
I did 4 weeks of opti and I actually was one of the ones that liked it. I used cold water and ice and blended it up in a mixer thing I purchased from GNC. The chocolate one was almost like a frosty from Wendy's and I added flavours to the vanilla and they were shake like. Also, the smell of them isn't great so you might want to use a cup with a straw and lid, that helped me get through them alot. Just remember this is the last step you have to get through to get to your surgery, keep your head in the game. I have read through some of your other posts and I think you have got this and will do great. Best of luck to you. Lori
The first couple of days are tough, but after that, it gets easy. Those shakes really filled me up. I was ordered 2 weeks of Optifast, the only thing I regret was not to buy all of them of chocolate. The vanilla one doesn't mask the funky flavor of the shake very well.
The last days I was tired of Optifast, not hungry, some days I just had 2 or 3 shakes, instead of the 4 packets.
The Nutribullet blender was a life saver. I recommend you to add a lot of ice when preparing it.
Today I'm two weeks post-up, feeling very well. My surgery was also in Guelph, and the surgeon was Dr. Reed. EXCELLENT doctor, I was very lucky to have him.

the only way to do it is full speed ahead. Plan your day....schedule your shakes and be as organized as possible. The shakes are not great tasting....honesty is best here...but you can add decaf coffee and other flavours that are not fat/sugar free. I found that sf Torani peppermint with the decaf coffee and chocolate shakes worked best for me. Also, I found that using a lot ice to make it cold was helpful.
I also made this phase a priority and therefore limited outings with friends for lunch and dinner and other get togethers. No explanation given other than I wasn't available. it's only for a short while and the time passes quickly. Before you know it you will be headed into OR to begin the rest of your life as a healthier person
Im four weeks post- op......it was all worth it. Good luck. Mas

Starting my Opti-Fast tomorrow morning. I feel this forum is the key to keep our courage. For me it is for 5 weeks . will keep you posted
Thank you for your post.
Im to do 2 weeks of opti fast and hope it goes quickly as
I'm hoping I don't struggle with this.
You said you have 5 weeks
you have to do 5 weeks of opti fast. That's crazy. Why do you have to do 5 weeks is that what your surgeon has ordered for you. It just seems that 5 weeks of opti is excessive.
Wish you well and thanks again
