Missing food?
The short answer is no, that is, as of today. My first week post op I cried thinking I would never have the pleasure of eating. Well, now I am changing my relationship which is not to use it for comfort. Now each bite is enjoyment. I savour the flavours and taking my time to eat has made me realize how I just shovelled it in without tasting it. I also have read many blogs and experimenting with new flavours. I like world according to egg face to obtain new recipes. I am still in soft food stage so she has some great recipes. Hope this helps and I am sure others will contribute to your question

No...I had a very dependent relationship with food as an emotional eater.
I am working on a healthier relationship with food. Food is now to survive. I enjoy the savoury flavours of meats instead of sweets and prefer the crunch of cucumber slices in place of chips. When I do nibble on a "bad" food, the triggers that result are so not worth it. I'm a work in progress.
The behaviourist at the Ottawa WMC has been very helpful. And cognitive behaviour therapy that Karen mentioned in her post is helpful in living post op. I've not gone to a therapist but read a couple books that have helped.
Good luck!
