Poached Egg

Happy New Year everyone ... today I switched to pureed food and had a poached egg for breakfast .... I thought I died and went to heaven! I have to say I have certainly become more mindful of eating and savor every bite of food that goods in my mouth ... that didn't happen before surgery, I would just inhale food! I remind myself everyday how lucky I am to have this opportunity and surgery  to start a healthy life! Sweet '16 New Year! :)

Happy New Year to you!

I remember my first bite of pureed - a teaspoon or so of tuna salad, all whizzed up to mush. I swear, angels sang. ;) Did you puree the egg (I hope)? Otherwise it might be a "soft", not a puree.

Many happy "meals" to come :)

Hi Karen, I didn't puree the egg, however in my "Eating for Health after Gastric Bypass" binder they gave me at TWH it only says to cook the poached egg until soft for this stage of eating ... they don't tell you to puree the egg. I guess some hospitals vary from stage to stage, I remember seeing that others were allowed 2 cups of veg on their Opti-Fast stage and TWH does not allow that ... it was  broth and Opti for 3 weeks ... I'm glad that one's done! :)

I can't wait to try a poached egg, I've never had one. I'm still on the full fluid stage for 18 more days or so. Everything is in a cream form, such as cream of wheat, cream of rice, pudding, strained soup, etc. I'm not hungry, but I'd like to have something more substantial, like baked tilapia, cooked vegetables, etc, something that doesn't go down too quickly.
