omy. I've been on clear fluids all morning, (colonoscopy and endoscopy test tommorow morning) and I already hate it. I'm grumpy, hungry and miserable without my crackers. What do I do?

N

ow I'm starting to think about the stages of eating that you do after the surgery. How do you make it? I love crackers! All kinds! I don't eat sugar,  sweets, treats stuff. But my crackers? G

oodness! I love those. I feel kinda lost right now not eating them. Right now I feel like I NEED them.

i guess  i am addicted to crackers. I dont smoke anymore (5years now) and I rarely drink.  so now i guess I gotta let the crackers go.

Yup...for sure,  say goodbye to the crackers ASAP.

The clear fluid days after the OPTI pre surgery werent pleasant either.  But its all worth it!!!!

Try to adjust your thinking when it comes to eliminating poor food choices.  Dont dwell on the things you cant have..put your energy into focusing on all the awesome things you will get by not eating them and starting this new journey.

I guarantee when you see your scale go down, your clothes get big, having more energy, gaining confidence and looking and feeling great , it is waaaaay more appealing and addictive than cheesecake, pizza, fettuccine Alfredo, butter tarts and for sure crackers!!!!!!! Lol

I love cheesecake( and the other things listed above)......but I understand now that I  love liking my own reflection, shopping at any store I want, not feeling winded going up a flight of stairs, living with a smile on my face..... soooo much more!!!!!

What's that old saying...."nothing tastes as good as looking good feels".   You'll see.

Thankyou MonaLisSmile. That was some good information. I guess I panicked when I couldn't have my crackers. LOL

I do need to change my way of thinking. I'm on a new journey. I should start looking at what I can eat and do after the surgery, and the clothes I may be able to wear again, instead of stretchies. I have some food intolerances, and this colonoscopy may or may not give me more (gluten) so I really need to start doing some planning and possible omitting now.  Thank you for helping me see that.

Crackers are CRACK for us.  They are so addictive and full of carbs, fat and salt.  They were the hardest thing for me to give up.

You are right White Dove. Crackers are crack! They are my addiction. They are going to be my hardest thing to give up. I think I should try to do this now. Say  goodbye to my beloved crackers. I should try to get addicted to a fruit or vegetable instead. LOL. Well.. I was addicted to watermelon and big macs while I was pregnant. (I didnt eat meat until I was pregnant) But I still love watermelon. Maybe watermelon should be my new thing.

No, not fruit either!  We can't eat most fruits and the very few we are allowed we can only have a 1/2 cup a day.  My "crack" was raw baby carrots.

You used the word 'addicted' which seems like great insight.

You may want to find a good therapist to help coach you through the journey. I've found that has been important to my process so far.

Let them go is right. Crackers are full of carbs and salt that is the worst for you.  It's like a lot of things we must give up and for us carbs are a poison. When you see your results on the scale you will change your mind about the crackers. Consentrate on the reason you are doing this and you will see that giving them up is the right thing to do. And yes I know you got this and will manage fine.

Good luck

Thank you Simon. Ive been looking for some alternatives to my crackers lately. Unfortunately as of Monday, I am now gluten, dairy, sugar and some fruits and veggis  free. So back to my old dietician I go. I started this weightloss journey over  a year ago on a comment my dietician made to me about strategies to lose weight. All I wanted to do was fix my digestive problems and fix my hands. (carpol tunnel.)  LOL. But I made a promise to myself th

at I would concentrate on my health this year. Look at me now. Great, frustrating, nervous, anxious scary year so far. Do you feel like this to? Do you think everyone does to? Nevet knowing what to expect.
