2 days post op
I had my surgery we'd. Everything went well I'm having some issues getting all the gas out but movement is helping.
Tried small bites of the hospital soup but nothing is appealing to me ... I'm forcing myself to get fluid in but feel I'm probably not getting enough...
I have abut half a box of chocolate optifast left wonder of slowly sipping those would help bc there high in protien???
Thoughts! ?!?!
Have you been discharged yet?
The Opti isn't good post surgery. There aren't enough nutrients etc for you now.
Remember - your tummy is ALL new :)
Just sip, chew ice chips, diluted juice....and walk when you can.
All the best!

Make sure you walk lots. I don't believe Opti is recommended post op. I never had much at the hospital either. They kept bringing me trays with jello/broth/juice and everything almost always went back. The IV fluids will keep you going in the hospital. I'm one week post op today and I now have diluted juices, tomato soup, chicken broth, no fat no sugar yogurts, 35 cal popsicles with Splenda and tea with a little sweetener. I have started my vitamins yesterday. I also had a glass of 1% milk today. The only thing not going in easily is water. Take your time trying new things and see what works for you :)
