Hi everyone, I am new here. I went to my orientation in Kingston on November 6. I am wondering how soon I will hear.

Anyone here go through Hotel Dieu? How many trips to Kingston can I expect as I am from out of town.?

Thanks, Adele

Hi Adele,

I'm going through the Regional Centre in Windsor, started July 2nd.  After orientation I've had the following appts:

Nutrition Class

NP

Doctor

Social Work

F/U Social Work and Dietician on the same day (I was cleared by both this day, some need follow up with the dietician as well).

Doctor follow up is on Dec. 10th.

After that I'm told there is the pre-op class to attend and then my file is referred to the surgeon.

I am 2 hours from the centre in Windsor and I'm 2 hours from the Hospital in Toronto....smack dab in the middle I guess.  You should ask if you can get any of your appointments booked on the same day, it may save you a trip or 2.

Nothing to be scared about!  She will weigh/measure you and then basically take your medical history.  Go over any medications.  In Windsor they allow 2 hours for this appt, I was in and out in about 40 mins.  Depends on your health issues.  I was given my future appointments on the day I met the NP.

Thanks Ginnny,

Not so much scared I guess as anxious. Also very much excited and ready for change.
