Just curious what protein powders people are liking from GNC? I have one from costco i liked prior to surgery but im having a hard time choking it down so thought i would try gnc...does anyone else get flavorless powder and add to food or soups? I am 4 days post op and i am getting some really weird pains when i swallow and im afraid im not getting enough protein in since i havent mastered my food plan nust yet and dont recognize hunger signs since my abdomen is still extremely sore

At 4 days post-op you only need to worry about getting in enough fluids.  An 8 ounce protein shake did me for one day at that stage.  What I was able to get down was Beneprotein in skim milk with no-sugar added Carnation Instant Breakfast.  I had one of those a day for the first few weeks and only a 2 ounce serving at a time.

I used the unflavoured GNC protein powder... pure performance I think.  If you're not too far, you're welcome to it.  There's hardly any out of it.

It mixes very well with greek yogurt and cream soups.  I added it to everything I ate.

If you're interested, send me an IM.

I picked up a small amount - unflavoured from Bulk Barn. Worked well in oatmeal and applesauce.

Its funny how on your own we are considering all the info and papers we recieve it still doesnt prepare us for reality lol. My papers made it seem like i should be consuming the 60g of protein already which is damn near impossible with the fact that it still feels sore when i swallow something and can feel it travelling into my new pouch but i have been doing my best so i will try these options and let you know which one was vest for me lol thanks to everyone *****plied

i ordered an unflavoured protein powder from an online complain called canadian protein.  i has 27 grams of protein per scoop. i added it to everthing i ate for the first 6 weeks and it helped me to get my protein in.  http://www.canadianprotein.com/100-whey-protein-isolate-2lbs .html.  At 4 days post op you want to be sipping on water and protein shakes as as you heal a bit more you can try cream soups, greek yogurt, cottage cheese etc the other stuff available to eat on the full fluids list  you can also add protein powder to those to boost your protein counts.   Do the best you can and as you heal you'll be able to get more in.

Canadian protein all the way. Best of all, ask for their whey protein isolate - check their website =- tons of flavoured. You can get about 6 samples for $12 shipping included.  I'd make one of them the unflavoured.  Great way to try out a variety of them!

Does anyone go to BodySystems?  I went there to get my protein and was just wondering if anyone else did and what kind they buy?
