Day 1 post op.
Good luck. As of today I am officially 2 weeks post-op. The first few days I spent wondering "what have I done?". You may not go through that, but it was mainly me wondering why I did this "semi-elective" surgery and being unhappy with the pain. The pain wasn't terrible, but still, there was some pain. I was totally surprised (and slightly horrified) by the amount of gas I passed. Just know that's normal. :)
Referral: February 2015; TWH Orientation: April 2015; Social Worker: June 10, 2015: Nurse Practitioner: June 11, 2015; Nutrition Class: June 15, 2015; Psychometry Assessment: June 16, 2015; Nutrition Assessment: July 22, 2015; NP follow-up: July 28, 2015; Surgeon Consult: August 28, 2015; Surgery: November 6, 2015; Operation: VSG
I went through that too. Wondering if I made the right decision.. even though it was already too late to take it back, but now, three months post-op, I know I made the right decision and I'm sure you will feel the same way soon if you don't already.
I found the GasX strips were a lifesaver in those first few days. The worst though, was the day 5 nausea. Everything made me sick to my stomach. Thank goodness for this board though, the vets said Gravol was the way to go.
