Opti day 1

Folks,

I need some some tips for getting through Opti.  The taste is brutal and I find it is worse when I add flavours with aspertame.  How do you make a pudding?  As I stare down another 20 days I am determined to be successful.....I just don't know if I'll be able to choke the Opti down. Your encouragement and support will be helpful and is needed more now than ever.

Thanks.

i liked adding instant decaf coffee in both my vanilla and chocolate optifast.  I would either brew a jug of decaf coffee and make ice cubes with them and then put them in my magic bullet and mix.   Or i would brew a jug and instead of water i would add the 500 ml of decaf coffee in both vanilla or the chocolate.

It will get better, and you will also have train wreck days...hang in there!!  The instant decaf coffee is good in the shakes, I also can't tolerate the aspertame flavours either.  Now the extracts, yummy.  I have caramel, banana and pumpkin spice.  I don't use the extracts often, just when I'm in a slump.  Now I have made an ice creamish shake...more ice than water, I had to eat it with a spoon.  But ice is the key, the colder any type of shake you make the better.  I am just finishing my 2nd week today, ONLY 4 more weeks to go.  If you have a bad day (as I have) it's OK freak out, cry, scream...you need to let this out and live it your way so you can learn to cope with what is still coming.  I feel this is an AMAZING learning time, time to learn to fight that head hunger, fight those urges that you NEED food, it's a stepping stool to our WONDERFUL futures!  And drink lots of water in between shakes, oh and you may need some benefibre, Metamucil or some fibre supplement...by day 3 I was hurting, I now add benefibre to my shakes, SO much better!!

Chin up, you can do it!

DaVinci flavoured syrups from LowCarbGrocery aren't bad. The marshmallow flavour made both chocolate and vanilla bearable for me.

I agree, it is rough going, but lots of water and ice will make it more tolerable.  To make the pudding, you add less water, only about 8oz with crushed ice and blend it.  I haven't done it yet, but I hear it's quite good.  I am 5 days into shakes and have only lost 2 lbs, very depressing :-(
