Looking for surgeon in Ontario that does RNY revisions?

I'm going through the rounds for bariatric surgery.  I had read that revisions can be done but my assigned surgeon at Humber doesn't do them.   Has anyone had it done?

Why didnt your assigned surgeon refer you to a surgeon at Humber that does revisions to RNY. My revision was at Humber and my surgeon was Dr. John Hagen. It does not make sense to me that you would not be sent to Dr. Hagen.

Referral - Feb/14, Orientation HRRH - September/14, Surgeon appt. & gastroscopy Dr. Hagen - October/14, Trio appts. - April/15, Dr. Glazer - April/15, Revision RNY - July 10, 2015

You weren't a RNY revision, you were a VBG revision.  I have never heard of Hagen doing RNY revisions.

Yes you are right I was a VSG and had a revision to RNY. That is why I wrote Dr Hagen revision to RNY. That is the way the surgery papers are written. So now that we have that clear...I cant understand why Dr Hagen did not refer this revision from RNY to a surgeon that could perform.

Referral - Feb/14, Orientation HRRH - September/14, Surgeon appt. & gastroscopy Dr. Hagen - October/14, Trio appts. - April/15, Dr. Glazer - April/15, Revision RNY - July 10, 2015

I believe you mean you went from a VBG (old sotmach stapling) to RNY.  And about Hagen not referring to someone else I don't get either.  He's not new and he should know who can do what.

I actually do have Dr Hagen.  He's a great guy but he said he couldn't help me as I already had a bypass.   I'm reading on hear that other have had bypasses and have gone ahead and had sleeves etc done.

Hi Silentflame...sorry that he cant revise an already existing RNY to something else but I am surprised Dr Hagen didnt refer you to someone that can perform this surgery. Call his office again and ask for referral to the right surgeon for you. Good luck sorry to hear the RNY needs revision. I do want to hear more about your journey.

I had a friend that had RNY done many years ago and needed a revision.  She was through TWH and they referred her to Dr. Hong in Hamilton.  Your centre should know which surgeons can do them but if they don't, you could ask to be referred to him.  From your title it sounds like you had a RNY originally or are you looking to be revised to a RNY from something else?

Ask your centre about Dr. Theo Grantcharov at St. Mike's. I haven't had it done - but met him about 20 months ago (he referred me to the programme) and he told me he did revisions -- just not sure if he does exactly what you need.
