Lost that loving feeling

First off, I would like to say that I have had my gastric bypass surgery on October 21st 2015. I feel really great physically. I've lost 41.5 lbs. Walk at least 30 to 45 mins a day at minimum 3.0 to 3.5 on treadmill on incline.

I'm on solid soft foods right now  and I have no interest in eating. I force myself to eat. I have a very hard time eating the required amounts.

Has anyone else felt this? No hunger, no full feeling or the desire to eat. Kind of funny how things have turned from having a love affair with food and not getting enough to nothing. I find it a bit depressing  (for lack of words) that I lack any interest at all.?

I felt the same for many months.. no interest in food. I still get like that from time to time. I had surgery Feb 2, 2015.

I also had some issues that I couldn't eat much so it didn't help. But hang in there it does get better.

Thanks Nikki101. I've trying to find any feeds or posts on YouTube with anything that I'm going thru and I couldn't find anything.

Do you not think that there are many people here on this forum who share her feelings and experiences? I would venture to guess the vast majority of us feel/have felt what the OP is going through.

It is hard to believe but enjoy it. The feeling of hunger and the cravings will come back. Use this time to optimize your loss. A couple of years from now you will wi**** was like this

It can be depressing, you're right. Aside from the major physical changes you're going through, the mental/emotional part takes a lot of adjustment as well. Losing your joy in food, and the ability for food to comfort you, is a huge blow psychologically. As for the lack of hunger signals - I haven't felt "hungry" in 9 1/2 years since surgery and that does take a lot of getting used to. Rest assured, you will find some joy in food again ****rtainly have anyway).  As Pat mentioned, things really do change a couple of years out and often we're wishing that the feelings you're having now (not wanting to eat, etc.) would come back. :/

Hang in there - everything is so new for you right now.

Yes my friend this is nothing new.  Very common for this to happen as the same craving that attract you to food have gone with the surgery

this will improve as time goes on.

As for now it's important to get that protein into you as its needed not to lose muscle

to lose the weight is great but you need to make sure that muscle is not lost and you do that with your protein.

As you know they tell you get you protein first.

Keep up the good work and I'm sure this will improve in the future.

You love for food is not gone you have now learned as with any addiction is how to deal with it as it will never leave you.

Keep up the great work your doing all the right things
