Ok need some advice went to purchase all my vitamins today as i am 1 week out from surgery and found all i need in chewable or crushable form except calcium citrate...the pharmacist assitant said the jamieson brand of mega cal calcium +D3 in chewable form will work did anyone else use this brand or have one they use that is what i need? They specified calcium citrate only which this does contarin but the ingrediant list says a few other types of calcium as well.  Feeling a bit overwhelmed looking for these and probably didnt help i had my three kids with me as well lol

The Jamieson Mega cal are the brand that was recommended to me by the nurse at Humber a few weeks ago. I am so glad I got some because at 4 days post-op I am having a really hard time swallowing the other chewable vitamins I got because they are so sweet and chalky. The Jamieson ones are going down ok.

Ok thanks so much that makes me feel better the other ones i got was a gummy b12 which is fairly small to chew, vitamin d in a choc flavor chewable and my multivitamin i got has to be crushed but is the only one i can find with everything i need in it so hopefully they all go down pretty easy

You don't want a gummy b12.  B12 is usually best absorbed through the mucous membrances not through the stomach. You want to either get the shot or buy the sublingual version.

For the calcium I agree with the photo of the Jamp calcium. You want citrate :)

I use the centrum 50+ chewable for the multi

I could be wrong but most of the jamieson formulations are not citrate. Usually they are a mix.  That's what I took (the chocolate chews).  I didn't absorb it well and am now osteopenic.

I order mine on-line at Unjury.com and they are specifically for bariatric surgery patients. They've improved the flavour of their multi-vitamins (in addition to increasing vits B12 and D)...and the multi is also available in capsule form now. The calcium citrate is my sweet treat at the end of lunch and supper.

Good luck!

You can order this chewable calcium citrate from any pharmacy its behind their counter. It is approx $12 for 60 chewables & they are 500 mg a pill.  all you need to do is give them the npn # on the bottle.  NPN 80003262.

There is a liquid calcium citrate available.

And my clinic (4 years ago) suggested the Jaimieson Calcium Chews, but only for the first couple months as they are not full citrate.

Any of the tablets can be crushed, but it's whether you can handle the taste.
