Hi all,

My husband and I are thinking of going to Cuba in February.  I was all set to book but now I am having second thoughts.  I am having the sleeve done on November 17, 2015.  Will this be enough time between surgery and vacation?

Thoughts?

You will likely feel fine by that point.  I will point out something to you that a travel agent friend told me that I was totally unaware of.  You need to check with your travel insurance provider about medical coverage.  Some have a 60-90 day travel clause it you were to fall ill away will something related to your surgery.  The amt of time differs between companies and it also depends on your age.

Better safe than sorry to check out the fine print before leaving the country!!

I traveled to Asia at 3.5 months with the surgeon's blessing. I did make sure I had my travel insurance up to date.

I made sure i had the names and hospital address of nearby bariatric surgeons to where I was staying in case I had a complication. Also I had my hospital give me a copy of my medical records and discharge report and I had them in my purse for the trip in case I needed to show them to a doctor.

I went to Mexico a month after surgery and I was fine!  3 months shouldn't be a problem at all and you will most likely be down at least 60lbs by then if not more!!
