My surgeon told me to stop taking my birth control pills 1 month before surgery and wait until 1 month after to start taking them again. I'm surprised you can still take yours.

I too was told to stop pre-accident (but only 2 weeks before) and stay off for a month after. The biggest risk with bcp is blood clots so they want you off before and after to reduce that risk (since blood clots are a risk of the surgery too).

Wish I WOULD just get mine. Was waiting for this one to plan a vacation for Dec. GRRRRRRRR!!!!!! Day 35 and still waiting !!! COME ON!!!!
