HRRH procedure
Hello all.....a quick question to clarify some things for me. I had my orientation May 29th at HRRH. They called last week with a Nov.30 appt with Dr.Hagen. I was told at that point I would get the dates for my trio appts. I have been trolling around a little and it seems that Dr. Hagen is not always the one who performs the surgery. So I'm basically wondering if the surgeon I meet first is the surgeon I stick with, or will I be referred to one of the other doctors.
Thanks a bunch!
I have no doubt in my mind that you will be thrilled with your meeting Dr. Hagen. He is such a confident, kind human being and easy to talk to...which brings me to the next part of your question. Tell him....yes, tell him that it means a lot to you to know who is performing the surgery. Tell him you want to know that he is taking your case. If he says that he cannot guarantee taking your case (there are 1,000 different scenarios), ask him to place on your computer records that it is important to meet with the actual surgeon performing your surgery. He will do that for you and he will confirm closer to date of surgery if he has the ability to pick up your files. You want "No surprises and no stress" at guessing who's hands you will be placed in.
Referral - Feb/14, Orientation HRRH - September/14, Surgeon appt. & gastroscopy Dr. Hagen - October/14, Trio appts. - April/15, Dr. Glazer - April/15, Revision RNY - July 10, 2015
thanks for your question I'm at HR too so I was interested in the response. Also good to hear from someone on the timeline too. my orientation was Aug 25th so I'm guessing it will be January or February before I hear from them. wow what a long wait Eh!
u wonder if anyone has had a negative experience of any of the surgeons there and would caution us away from?
