Couldn't sign on anymore for some reason as Canadian Girl, so I changed my name to Eragon2015, because I just loved the dragon in the movie. But anyhow.....

Oh my goodness! Finally received my 1st surgeon appointment/bloodwork for November 24th. Now i'm getting a little nervous. Had my orientation at HRRH April 24th,and now its happening. Just wondering from all those who have already been here, how long did it take for you to have surgery at this point? I have already had the sleep test, and have a endoscopy/colonoscopy booked for December. This wasnt required, but I have acid reflux and also am milk fat(cream) intoletant, so I thought it would help to have these results to. I'm really feeling butterflies right now. But I cannot stop smiling.

Anybody that went through HRRH before Oct 18th, went through the OLD HRRH. Now you get the brand new hospital. I went to see my surgeon Dr. Hagen this week for my 3 mo post op. His schedule for surgery days has changed in the new hospital. I dont imagine your wait time being delayed or speeded up. Your surgeon needs to discuss the results of endoscopy/colonoscopy most likely in Jan or Feb. When you see him, you could ask for idea of timing. I had to wait 6 mos after my gastroscopy before we could even talk about approx. surgery date.

I just wanted to say, good for you to request investigation due to your acid reflux. Everybody is different regarding the lactose intolerance. I know I was fine with milk prior to surgery and just so happens I am now lactose intolerant. Surgeon and I are still saying "luck of the draw, some do and some dont".

Congrats in getting to the next level closer to surgery and having surgery in the new hospital. Are you too far away to come to the HRRH support group meetings last Wednesday or every month. Call the bariatric clinic for more information for November because October meeting has been cancelled (to my knowledge).

Referral - Feb/14, Orientation HRRH - September/14, Surgeon appt. & gastroscopy Dr. Hagen - October/14, Trio appts. - April/15, Dr. Glazer - April/15, Revision RNY - July 10, 2015

Thank you for responding. I meet with Dr. Hagen on Nov24. Is he nice? I'm so nervous. A nice dr. will make this better. LOL Hopefully my results will come back quickly and okay. It was requested from my Family doctor. Been cream intolerant since I was in my late teens. I'm hoping it would go away after surgery, along with my acid reflux. I am too far for the support group there, I read there is one here in Barrie. So I may look there. But thank you though.

You will not meet any surgeon nicer than Dr Hagen. He really is patient and understanding. If you are nervous he will calm you. If you are having RNY, I am confident you will not have any acid reflux when you wake up from surgery. I had GERD and a real problem with acid reflux. My surgery was July 10 and as soon as I woke up, Dr Hagen was right there asking me how it felt not having acid reflux. Not another incident of reflux since. Hope your intolerence to cream goes away but that is one item you will not be havng after surgery. Let me know how your appointment went. To his office straight down 400 that becomes Black Creek and left on Lawrence. The medical building is just west of Dufferin on your left hand side. The driveway to pay park is between the two buildings. Have cash ready for parking, it will be about $4 to $6.
