Will I be refused?
From what you put in your post, yes you are a great candidate, as good as anyone else.
From my understanding (and research), the people who get declined tend to have other serious health issues that may either complicate the surgery or be seriously complicated by the surgery. I've also read and heard about people who are not mentally stable enough not getting approved. And even with the mental stability issue, for most this may require an extra appointment or two with the psychologist/social worker, depending on the severity of the instability. Other's may have more to add, but from your post, you'll have nothing to worry about.
p.s. have you started the process to get a sleep study done yet?

The rules to qualify are BMI of 35 plus 2 co-morbidities OR BMI of 40 with or without any co-morbs. Just because you qualify with BMI doesn't mean you will get the green light from each member of the team but that happens very rarely. Some are told to work at things longer but not flat out refused, sometimes they need to work on eating a bit better or eating 3 meals or increasing water, etc and then they see the dietitian again until he/she is happy that they are ready to move forward. Some people have been delayed months if they have a mental illness that needs to be dealt with first, etc. As long as you meet the BMI criteria then you are a candidate but then you still have to pass with each member of the team. Very very few that meet the criteria are then later completely declined for surgery, it's usually just delayed until other things are done.
You do not need any other co-morbidities if you have a BMI over 40 you qualify. Under 40. If you are between 35-40 you have to have one other illness, sleep apnea, type 2 diabetes, etc...
