If you have Dr. Grancharov - you are in excellent hands. I met him a year ago June and he actually referred me to the programme. He does some amazing things - developed a "Black Box" for the OR and uses Google eyewear to share his surgeries with others. Google him - many interesting articles / interviews in The National Post, Globe & Mail, CTV. Unfortunately I did not have him as my surgeon - as you probably know they pull from a pool once you are ready for surgery - surgeons / hosp / ORs that are available at that time. I did end up w/ an excellent surgeon (Cyriac) at another hospital, but wanted to share what I know about Grantcharov if this is your surgeon at St. Mike's.

St. Mike's is a busy downtown hospital - spending time in there ER can be an eye opener if you are not already exposed to the needs of desperate street people, gunshot victims and so on. It is an old hospital - not new and shiny like Humber. I have been in St. Mike's ER many times, had cardiac testing done there, visited friends there and so on.

I will be going to St. Michael's.  I met with Dr. Ori Rotstein on Sept. 23/15 and am scheduled for surgery Oct. 26th/15.  So no, not much wait time.  3 weeks of Opti starting Oct. 5th.

What was your impression of Dr. Rotstein?

Seemed nice, very professional.

I believe he is the Chief of Surgery at that hospital.
