Surgeon meeting vs optifast start date

hi everyone just have a quick question when you met with your surgeon did you start optifast that day? I am scheduled to meet with my surgeon on October 14 and I'm really hoping to start the optifast that day but I am worries that when I meet with him my actual surgery won't be scheduled for a couple months...lol I have bad luck that way when I am mentally and physically prepared for this surgery to happen NOW lol 

I met with my Surgeon on June 1st to schedule Surgery.  (Dr. Hagen).  My Surgery was scheduled for September 1st.  I only had to do two weeks of Opti, so I didn't start until mid August!  :)

I met with my Surgeon at TWH on Sept 11th. My surgery is scheduled for Nov 17th. I don't start Opti until Nov 3rd.

Depends on which clinic you are out of.  If you are out of Ottawa (and unless they have changed process), on the first week of each month, they schedule the next month's surgeries.  You would get your prescription for Opti the day of your appointment (and possibly the Opti itself) , but they'd call and tell you when to start.

Thanks for that information Cathy. I have my opti fast sitting here, just waiting for a call. From what you said I likely won't get a call until Nocember for a December date. Fingers crossed I get my call next week though since it's the beginning of the month😁

I am out of the kingston clinic..I had my over the computer meeting on August 14th, My surgery is October 6th, I didnt start Opti until September 14th. But my surgery is out of Toronto East General

Had surgeon meeting on July 7th. Surgery date was Aug 25th Opti start was Aug 4th. Not sure of other clinics but at TWH they take your credit card info and make the opti order for you. It was shipped to my house, think I got it early the next week after the apt. It sat around for about 3 weeks till I started opti on Aug 4th. I think it's normal to have a month or 2 delay from the meeting to surgery.
