Morning Barb,

Shepherd's Pie sounds so good. I love fall cooking. The last time I made it, I used cauliflower mash instead of potatoes and omg it was good. Enjoy the game :)

Off to work shortly for day 2 of registration pick-up for Tour de Mississauga (tomorrow). If the pick-up/reg day on Thursday was any indication of what today will bring, it's going to be a busy one! Home late afternoon for dinner and an early night, not sure what else I'll get up to. Probably nothing. lol

9.5 years post-op

- coffee with cream x 3 over the day -

B - GNC Total Lean (strawberry)

S/L - this is where it gets tricky - will have a muffin-tin crustless quiche as soon as I get to work, have packed a few oz. of old cheddar and 7 melba rounds to munch on when possible. I hate that "grazy" behaviour, but I'm in power-through mode ;)

S - Greek yogurt and a few grapes when I get home

D - BBQ philly cheesesteak stuffed burger (approx. 2/3 of it) all the fixings no bun, a little coleslaw maybe

S - Begal Spice fog

Have a great day!

Hope things go well for you today.  I would love to make the Shepherds pie with cauliflower but I would get too much grief.  Going to cut the amount down and see if he notices.

You rarely if ever graze Karen - which we both know can be the kiss of death - so I sure wouldn't worry about it today.  I am assuming you are a volunteer?

Yeah, Andrew was all over the Shepherds pie until I made the mistake of telling him it was cauliflower mash. Oops.

You're right, I don't graze usually. I can eat way too much if I graze. Today wasn't bad food-wise, the melbas and cheese worked.

No, I am not a volunteer. My colleague is off work due to illness for the past few weeks and the Cycling Advisory is her council committee. Someone (me) had to take over her work load in her absence and covering a meeting has turned into covering their major event. Such is life. Take one for the team. Power through. LOL

Enjoy your game Barb. Hope it doesn't rain on you. Need to get out for a walk  with the dog soon before it rains. Grocery shopping. My fridge has never looked so empty. Want to make a couple of soups today and stuffed peppers. Peppers for dinner and soups for lunches.

Tried Cauliflower mash last night for the first time. Loved it. I love all vegetables but cauliflower has never been real high on the list. Great way to have it

b greek yogurt, fiber 1, peach

l chili, source yogurt

d stuffed quinoa peppers, salad

Good morning everyone.  Going to have a lazy day today after a long workweek.  I like your idea of shepherds pie, I might make one with carrots as the topping, I do not have cauliflower.  Or maybe a meatloaf, I need to use up some ground beef that's been in the freezer a while.  Also going to make lentils with carlamelized onions and freeze it for lunches. Have to go out later to get a prescription and more calcium citrate.  Tried pork rinds with tuna salad on them for the first time yesterday and it is actually quite nice, and very very filling.  Going to have the rest today.

Ok, out of curiosity, what is the nutritional count on these pork rinds? And since when did pork rinds become "good to eat" as a post-op?

Imo pork rinds are way better post-op than crackers or chips, check out the nut counts:  http://www.thelowcarbgrocery.com/catalog/frito-lay-canada-fr ito-lay-baken-ets-pork-rinds-p-1979.html

I can eat maybe 4 or 5 at the most, they are very filling, that is about 50 calories.  7 grams of protein and 1 gram of carb per serving is not bad even though the sodium and fat is higher than I would like.  They are of course not a health food but in my opinion they are a better choice than the junky crackers and chips.

Good morning, it looks like the rain sprinkles have started in the east end, I was hoping to get out with the dog before it got too intense. I'm doing some physiotherapy today as well (my clinic is open Saturday which is super).

The shepherd's pie with cauliflower mash sounds so great, I made that a few years ago pre surgery and loved it. I think I'll make some this weekend. Now the challenge to get my guy to eat it!

3 months post op

B GNC total lean chocolate shake

S Decaf coffee with cream

L tuna salad with veganaise and a nori cracker

D we will see, but maybe cauliflower shepherd's pie?

S tea with soy milk through the day
