Research group out of St.Joe's (Hamilton)

Anyone agree to be in the research program at St.Joe's in Hamilton? Are you having second thoughts or have backed out completely??? 

If "research program" refers to what I think you are talking about .....not a chance!!!!

If it is the one where you don't know what surgery they did until 6 months post surgery so that they can study whether rny or sleeve is better for patients with severe GERD, then I was asked and did not go there.  Curious

That is the one I was talking about. I agreed to be in it, but am now having second thoughts. Just wondering what other people thought about it.

I had severe GERD for years and it was causing repetitive bouts with pneumonia and the surgeon said that RNY was without a doubt best for gerd at the consult, then I go to pre surgery meeting and am asked to take part in this research.  I was not willing to take the risk. Look forward to reading replies to this as it would be interesting to see how it went.  Have you had your surgery?
