Good morning,

I've got my first cold coming on post-op from my RNY surgery in June this year and my question is, what are the safe medicines in can take?

Thanks!

Terry

Anything without an NSAID.  Depends on the type of cold and whether or you want pills or syrups.  I don't remember the brands that are not NSAID right now for syrups, bu****ch the sugar and alcohol content on them.  For a chest cold, my Mom takes Buckley's SF.  There's another one that is SF that she used when there was no Buckley's (plant closed for a bit due to a fire).  For pills, Tylonal has pills for cold and cold/flu and sinus.  I've used them.  I also use Vicks on my chest for colds.

Also, lots of fluids, and have some chicken soup.  It always helps out.
