Opti tomorrow :|
That is really exciting! Let us know what you think about the opti. When is your surgery? Are you doing three weeks of opti? I am hoping to start in a couple months. I meet the surgeon on the 21 of September so please share recipes you like! If you find you can't stand the opti just remember all the days you spent dreaming of if getting to this point, close your eyes and drink!! Congrats!

I will definitely let you know how I am getting along with opti, i know the first couple of days is going to be the hardest but i am keeping my eye on the prize..I am doing 3 weeks of opti, my surgery is october 6th at Toronto East General
Don't worry too much about Opti. Just schedule your shakes and drink lots of water in between. Make sure your shakes are really cold when you make them, and don't forget you can add flavours to it like decaf coffee, and SF syrups. There's a thread on the Recipe Forum called Surviving Opti. And if your centre allows extras (mine allowed broth and SF Jello) use it. Sometimes the "treat" makes the day.
You'll do fine on it. And as you said, keep your eyes on the prize. This is only 3 weeks (although there are days that I miss the Opti, when I didn't have to think about what to eat for the day).

No need to waste energy worrying about OPTI, you'll be fine. Not only does it start you off losing weight..but it made me feel better than I had in a long time. It also makes you realize how little you really require to eat to live, and it helps prepare your mind for the post op lifestyle. I realized how much I used food for entertainment and company and ate unnecessarily.
Take it one day at a time....and remember to breathe!!!!! Lol.

Whooohoooo Opti!!! Now **** becomes more real!! Try not and psych yourself out about Opti - it's really not that bad. Trust me, about 2-3 days into Opti you're going to have a RIDICULOUS amount of energy. I took advantage of it and got my ass out walking further and further, and getting my house cleaned up so that I didn't have to worry about it for a few weeks after surgery. The time will go fast. Go out and buy yourself all sorts of those flavoured water enhancers (Mio, Crystal light etc) and make lots of ice. You're going to totally rock this!!

I just started Opti today too. So far, I like the chocolate WAY better than the vanilla! I'm starting to get a little hungry and I just had my supper shake so I think I'll make myself some broth. Also, hopefully that will get rid of the sweet taste in my mouth. Wowzers that vanilla is sweet!
