Update - with a few pics
when I was pre-op I loved looking at pictures! Now, obviously, I still have a ways to go but I was pushing almost 400 lbs just 9 months ago. I weighed in at 228 this morning and my goal is around 150. At this point I seem to be losing 12-15 lbs a month.. which is probably a bit slow but it's working for me. Pre-op I was 387 and surgery date I was 370.
I started as a size 26 jeans and 3-4 x shirts/tops and now I'm a size 20 with 1x tops.

It is, I took the pictures yesterday. I feel awesome, but weird too! Like my hips hurt when I do a lot of walking because I'm used to walking a different way. I can't ever seem to get comfortable when I sleep because I'm used to my massive and squishy body.. I tend to use a lot more pillows now to compensate. When I push my legs together as tight as I can.. my knees rub together where before, my thighs were so big they would not touch.
I do love being able to run up and down stairs without being winded. I get a LOT more attention... men holding doors, flocking to me in stores and such when previously I felt almost invisible. I still have a ways to go.. I can't even imagine what life will be like in another 70ish lbs :)

70 more? You will be a toothpick.... Lol. Yes, it is funny how you are not invisible anymore. It's a shame, but that is how the world treats "fat ppl". I am tired of being a fat person. I have severe knee arthritis, which is the primary reason for the surgery. My orthopaedic surgeon is the one who suggested WLS. That never crossed my mind until about 11 months ago. I never thought I was "that big"??? Now I am waiting for my last appt with the phycologist then surgeon referral and surgery date. What a looooooooong process.
lol! Toothpick... me?! So hard to wrap my head around that haha. I've always carried my weight pretty well, I also think it's a pretty good picture which helps. I picked 150 as my goal weight, even though a healthy BMI for my height is 120-140.

Congrats on the progress!! I'm just a bit behind you (6 months) but I also had pain sleeping and walking. I have found my body has adjusted and I sleep better now and my hip and knee pain is pretty much gone. I find myself sitting and standing differently, which I'm hoping is better for my joints in the long run :) hopefully your body will adjust soon and you will find the pain going away.
It's not really "pain". I used to get a LOT of pain pre-op, some days I would have to limp out of bed and my ankles and legs would be swollen to twice their size. This is a weirder kind of pain... like a dull ache. I used to walk with my legs spread out more, and now I move faster, I'm lighter on my feet and when I stand or walk it's like my hips move differently? I can't explain it, and it doesn't happen all the time. I'm sure I will adjust in time.
