Question about Iron

No, not yet.  It was on my list to try.  I have a few things on my Costco list to try, and I was planning on visiting my sister last weekend because she has a membership.......... and I got sick...... no chicken salad for me!!

Right now I am using the life brand liquid, sugar free blueberry flavor, and I don't like blueberry.  To top that right off, when I was buying the chewable vitamin c, the other night to take with my iron pill, I got home and realized it was blueberry too!  Puckers me all up when I have to get that blueberry taste in my mouth.  Oh well, live and learn, and the vitamin regimen is a work in progress.

you can ask any pharmacy to order this chewable calcium citrate, it costs approx $12 for 60 .  all you need to do is give the pharmacist the NPN 80003262 and they can order it for you.

I saw you post those calcium pills a couple months ago.  I took the number to the Shoppers Drug Mart in my town, the pharmacist told me she could not get them for me.  She didn't really give me a reason. So  I ordered some of the nice Bariatric Advantage chewables online.  I am still using them up, they are more expensive and have calories that pills don't have.  They are convenient though, for when I am out.  I was having trouble getting all three doses in a day due to interactions with the other meds I take.  Having to space everything at least two hours apart.  The chewy caramel ones are like a treat, I never forget to take my calcium anymore.

I may try shoppers again though, seeing as we have to be on calcium for the rest of our lives, a cheaper option would sure help.  And maybe try the Wellesse brand Karen mentioned from Costco, because the liquid is easy to take when at home.

Thanks,

judy

I am late on this post- I took ferramax for a year to no avail.  Proferrin upped my numbers quickly ( 3 months)

That is good to know.  Thank you.  My iron was low at my 3 month labs, so I should know if the ferramax is working for me, when I get my 6 month labs done.  If I am, I will try Proferrin then.

Barb and I had a similar experience. I was taking FeraMax for a long while and everything was o****il it dropped again. FeraMax works great for most people, and would be my first "go to", but Proferrin seems to be doing a better job.
