dr mary ann aarts or dr jamie cyriac..thoughts??
Met Aarts & then surgery done by Cyriac - met him minutes before & 2x after when he checked in on me. I had not post op pain, no complications to date - a little light headed but that's likely due to not getting enough water in etc.
Check out my "Scarey Bedtime Story" post a week or so ago re: bad bed in the bariatric unit at TEG. Maybe call the nursing station at 5A and ask if the bed (Rm 510A) has been fixed by a technician.
I met with Dr. Aarts in January and she advised me she was 90% sure she would be my surgeon but that if something came up, I could have Dr. Cyriac instead, as they work as a team. My surgery was booked for February 4th and I indeed had Dr. Aarts. She was absolutely lovely and even gave me a hug after she came to get me on the day of surgery, as she was so proud of me that I had lost 17 pounds on Optifast. I had a complication and they couldn't finish the surgery on the 4th and she was with me every step of the way, visiting me in ICU each morning, and she gave me great care - the whole team at TEGH did, actually. In fact, her day off was February 6th but she came in at 4 p.m. (a Friday) to finish my surgery, after getting the all-clear from the cardiologist earlier in the day. I was so grateful!
You are in great hands! :)
