Sorry to hear about your medical issues, hope they get resolved soon.  Losing lots of blood is not good - are you having trouble with iron too?  I am finding it a struggle.

Thanks Zizzler. They haven't checked my iron just my hemoglobin and it's in normal range. I will ask my Dr to check my iron when I see him next.

Oh Monica, so sorry to hear you're going through this - been there done that unfortunately. You are lucky that they are going straight to the surgical option, I wasn't as lucky and suffered horribly with near-hemorrhage situations for months and months. My hemoglobin dipped down to the mid-60's requiring blood transfusions, my iron totally tanked and required several rounds of iron infusions to get it back up. What a freakin' nightmare.

Have they put you into medical menopause while waiting for a hysterectomy date? (i.e. Lupron shot, etc.?)

Hi Karen. I have had 2 good days with minimal bleeding thanks to that wonder drug!  I even wore white today lol. Livin on the edge!  I see the gyno this week so not sure what he will recommend. I just know the drs in emerg said I would need a hysterectomy which I'm cool with. I know there are other options but I don't want to **** around and have this happen again. It's been a month from hell and it's really cutting into my sex life lol. The dr I've been referred to is big on the surgery so that is good. Others try a bunch of different things and put you thru a year of hell before they will operate. I'll keep you posted!  So far my hemoglobin is around 124. I can't imagine it being in the 60's wow.

I'm sure the gyno will do as you wish - there isn't so much avoidance of hysterectomies anymore, thankfully, when it's obvious a woman isn't having more children and needs intervention to save their overall health.

I had to have my hysterectomy open (not lap) due to the fibroids being softball size, but I am so grateful that it's done. The side-effects from the Lupron can be kind of brutal - "menopause" hot flashes, night sweats, etc.

Sorry that you were at the hospital all day. Glad that they have found out what the problem is and now you can get it taken care of. That was so nice of your husband to bring you a lunch. Don't worry about what time you post here. It can even be the next day if you want. Please get some rest and take care of your self

Had a rough day Thursday and spent all day in Emerg! Found several fibroids in my uterus so that explains the heavy bleeding I've been experiencing for a month! Just need to book an appt for surgery to have a hysterectomy. Bye bye uterus I won't miss ya one bit! breakfast was Greek yogurt and protein cereal Snack was a small pkg of beef jerky my DH brought me up lunch so I had a small scoop of egg and tuna salad and 2 pieces of Melba. Snacked on this over a couple of hours. Finally got released at 430 and I had gotten there at9am!! had a birthday dinner to go to which was exhausting but I went had 5oz steak couple of bites of bread a a couple of French fries. Ate 2 bites of a cupcake then headed home and went straight to bed which is why I am posting at 3! Hope to fall back to sleep now!
