What happened to the 400 grams of yogurt at one sitting? Did "trainer and doctor" tell you that's nuts?

Barb, I'd be happy to help you with your menus, despite your resistance to fact.

They were fine with the the yogurt Karen mostly when I am using it for a run or after a run. If not then they would like to see me split it up. Two and two.  I also need to add milk and cheese to my diet since I am losing bone mass in the spine.

400 grams of anything is a lot. 400 grams of the Source Greek yogurt that I eat would mean ingesting four (4!) containers at one sitting. That would be 280 calories, 32 grams carbohydrates, 28 grams sugar. Add to that the whole banana you're also eating - 120 calories, 30 grams carbohydrates, 17 grams sugar. So at one (1) meal you are consuming 400 calories, 62 grams carbohydrates, 45 grams sugar.

How is that a post-op bariatric menu? It's not.

You keep mentioning "trainer and doctor" - are these bariatric specialists who understand post-RNY requirements?

Sorry, but your menus sit poorly with me as an "example of post-op maintenance".

Karen they are not happy with it unless I am doing a run. or a very long bike ride. When you are out there running for 2 or 3 hours you need the carbs and the calories to make it through. I can not take fuel in while I am running so it is important to get it in before hand. There are only certain things I can eat before a run without upsetting my stomach.

If I am not doing a run they want me to cut back and spread it out throughout the day

Okay, I get that, despite the fact that I'm not an "athlete". I truly do. But I really have to wonder Barb why you're not eating more dense protein?

I know you train hard at times and I realize you need to feed that level of activity, but day-to-day I could never justify eating 4 servings of fruit and 800 grams of yogurt - unless I was training for the Olympics.

A good example of how different our bodies are. But I do know that if the majority of my food intake was soft, I would not feel satiated and that would lead to grazing/overeating/weight gain. And I don't think my body requires that amount of sugar, whether it be natural or not.

Stayed on track today, yay! had some fresh local wax beans this evening as they need to be eaten, added some salt as my centre says salt might help my low blood pressure.  It is so much easier to stay on track when I am at home surrounded by food that is good for me.  I had corn on the cob twice and each time I do not feel well afterwards.  Too bad because I really love fresh corn when it is in season.

So glad that you were able to stay on track today. It is funny I find it easier to stay on track when I am not home.  Corn is hard on a lot of people who did not even have surgery. It is just one of those veg. that can be hard on the stomach. Try just eating half of it and see how you feel.

Home is my safe place, I live alone so I control what comes in 100%, I am lucky that way.  When I am out all that is out the window, food everywhere, it is a real challenge for me.  I like the idea of half a cob for the corn, I will try that if I have it again.  Might not be until next season as I only like it on the cob and fresh local.  Ya, I am one of those people lol

breakfast was Greek yogurt and protein cereal

Snack was a small pkg of beef jerky

my DH brought me up lunch so I had a small scoop of egg and tuna salad and 2 pieces of Melba. Snacked on this over a couple of hours.

Finally got released at 430 and I had gotten there at9am!!

had a birthday dinner to go to which was exhausting but I went

had 5oz steak couple of bites of bread a a couple of French fries. Ate 2 bites of a cupcake then headed home and went straight to bed which is why I am posting at 3!  Hope to fall back to sleep now!
